Energik Power Yoga describes itself as the first and largest yoga studio in Malang, and local guides still call it one of the city's yoga pioneers. It runs from Jl. Candi Kidal in Blimbing, in the north-east of the city, and says hundreds of members have trained there.
The focus is power yoga: a strong, sweaty practice built around strength and flexibility. The published timetable runs Monday to Saturday, with early-morning, mid-morning and late-afternoon sessions. Most daytime classes (Class A) are women-only; the mixed classes for men and women (Class B) run at 7pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, so male visitors should plan around those.
Classes are taught in Bahasa Indonesia and the studio is aimed mainly at local regulars. The current schedule is posted on its website; there is no online booking, so contact the studio or walk in before a class to register.
