Kata Hot Yoga, opened by Govert van Lankeren Matthes, is a purpose-built hot room on Khoktanod Road, a short walk from Kata Beach. The studio has an anti-bacterial rubber floor, dehumidifiers and a heating system that keeps the room at around 40°C.
Every class follows the original 26+2 series – 26 Hatha postures and two breathing exercises over 90 minutes – taught by visiting teachers from around the world. Classes run every day at 9am and 5:15pm, are designed for beginners as well as experienced practitioners, and are also live-streamed on Zoom.
No booking is needed: arrive ten minutes early with water and light clothing. A drop-in costs ฿790; a ten-class pass or one-month unlimited membership is ฿4,900, and there is a 30-day challenge. The studio also runs hot yoga teacher training and a health programme with nearby accommodation.
