Freedom Yoga Chiang Mai has been teaching since 2016 and reopened in 2023 in a renovated two-storey teak wood house on Sam Lan 5 Alley, in the south-west corner of the Old City inside the moat. The practice room is upstairs, with wooden floors and windows on all sides, and there is a small garden with seating where students linger after class.
All classes are taught in English and last 90 minutes, usually opening and closing with a short meditation. The timetable runs from about 8am to 8pm and covers Hatha Foundation, Hatha Vinyasa, Vinyasa Flow, Power Flow, Dynamic Flow, Yin and therapeutic movement and mobility classes, with Ashtanga, Iyengar and meditation added at some times of year. Hatha is the studio's recommended starting point for beginners, and it also runs a beginner course and a 50-hour Yin teacher training.
A single class costs ฿400. Passes are valid for 60 days: three classes for ฿1,000, five for ฿1,500, ten for ฿2,800, or ฿6,000 for a month of unlimited classes. Walk-ins are welcome, but the studio recommends booking 24–48 hours ahead by WhatsApp or social media to secure a mat. The door opens 30 minutes before class.
Prices and timetables change. Check with the studio before you go.
Popular classes fill up, so book ahead where you can.
