Om Shiva Yoga is a long-established boutique studio on Jalan Rumia in Chip Bee Gardens, the low-rise estate just behind Holland Village. Its teachers each have 15 to 20 years of practice behind them, and classes are kept small so everyone gets attention.
The yoga is classical rather than fitness-led. Sivananda classes follow the traditional set sequence of twelve held poses, while Hatha classes build step by step with options for every level, which suits beginners. A certified prenatal teacher runs pregnancy yoga adapted to each trimester. The studio also teaches Meipadam and Karlakattai, a traditional South Indian warrior workout using bodyweight drills and weighted wooden clubs, and runs workshops and retreats overseas.
Walk-ins cost S$40 a class, and a 10-class pack costs S$350, with larger packs of up to 50 classes. Private and one-to-one sessions start from S$150. Book or ask about the timetable by WhatsApp before you go, as this is a small studio rather than a big chain with fixed online booking. Mats are provided and there is parking nearby.
Prices and timetables change. Check with the studio before you go.
