Ashtari sits on a hilltop on Jalan Raya ke Mawun, a few kilometres west of central Kuta, and has been part of the area's yoga scene since 2006. Its two open-air wooden shalas look out over Kuta Bay, and the site also has a slow-food restaurant, a permaculture garden and private rooms.
Four to six 75-minute classes run every day, starting with sunrise flows or meditation at 7.30am on some days and finishing with evening Yin, breathwork or myofascial sessions at 7pm. In between you will find Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa Flow, Strong Vinyasa, Hatha, Slow Flow, Yoga for Surfers, Bamboo Mobility, Reiki Restorative and Yin with sound bath.
All levels are welcome and equipment is provided. Booking ahead through the Acuity system is encouraged, as classes cap at 30, but walk-ins are accepted when there is space. Payment is taken on arrival by cash, card (2% surcharge) or transfer. Class passes, week and month passes are available, and Ashtari runs retreats and a 200-hour teacher training.
Prices and timetables change. Check with the studio before you go.
