Colour Yoga has been teaching in Jakarta since 2010 and now operates from a second-floor studio on Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto in Menteng, Central Jakarta. Founder Imelda Tirtadiredja is a yoga therapist, and the studio is unusual in the city for its focus on children, including one-to-one therapeutic sessions for children with additional needs.
For adults, the backbone of the timetable is Iyengar yoga, with its emphasis on precise alignment and props, alongside yoga for scoliosis, prenatal classes and an introduction to swing (aerial) yoga. The studio also lists hatha, vinyasa and Ashtanga among the styles it teaches, and runs workshops and series through the year. The practice room deliberately has no mirrors; the studio describes itself as judgement-free and welcoming to all ages and levels.
New students can try a week of unlimited classes for Rp 200,000. Classes are booked through the studio's own website, and the site is available in English, Bahasa Indonesia and Japanese.
Prices and timetables change. Check with the studio before you go.
